Lunar Guide for Brides

libraJuly 18 , 2010:
First Quarter Moon in Libra

At the First Quarter Moon, the impulses of the New Moon become visible to the world. It is one of the best times this month in which to act. If, at the New Moon, you collected ideas about places where you might hold your ceremony, people who might perform the ceremony… now is the time to act on those ideas, with phone calls, emails, and visits. If you took action at the New Moon, you might find that, only a week later, you have new information that might lead you to alter those plans.

The Libra First Quarter Moon is the right time to insist on good manners, proper etiquette, and observance of social forms. At the Cancer New Moon, your attention was trained on your own subjective view of your situation — your feelings, your family’s traditions, what feels comfortable and safe and right for you. At the Libra First Quarter Moon, it’s time to force your way out of your comfort zone to consider what is right with regard to those around you, in particular your partner.

As you do so, remember that while good manners tend to be subjective, formal etiquette is not. It’s easy, in an age in which “being yourself” is a quality prized above almost any other, to turn up one’s nose at Emily Post and Miss Manners as quaint, vestigial remains of an obsolete era. But etiquette exists not just to torture the harried bride, but for a good, Libran reason: to serve as an objective code of behavior toward others that greases the wheels of social interaction. The overwhelming impulse of this New Moon in Cancer cycle is the protection of feelings and the creation of an atmosphere of safety; Libra reminds us that this is much easier to achieve when everyone plays by the same rules of civility.

Your 2010 WeddingYour 2010 Wedding: Astrological Tips and Trends

I've been choosing wedding dates for couples for more than a decade now, and each year it gets both easier and more difficult. Easier, because I know what I'm looking for and have figured out how to find it quickly. But more difficult because the times themselves are more difficult - and this is reflected in our astrology. Still, even amidst the cosmic rubble of the 2010 landscape, there are still some pretty good moments to say "I do." This article will give you an overview of the year's high(and low)lights....

Choosing Your Wedding Date with Astrology

My book Star Guide to Weddings introduces you to twelve wedding "personalities," based on the signs of the zodiac. But choosing the best date and time for your wedding is a lot more complicated than just knowing your Sun Signs. The positions of the Sun, the Moon, and the planets are all an important part of your big day and set the tone for your lives together.

Astrologers use the technique of "electional astrology" to help you find the moment that's just right for you. Helping couples choose their wedding dates with electional astrology has been my specialty since 2000 - let me help you!
