Jupiter
in Capricorn: Enduring Blessings. Receiving wedding presents is delicious. I fondly remember the weeks leading up to my own nuptials, when each day brought the UPS guy to our door with an armload of divine offerings. Initially we had resisted registering for gifts - we wanted to be an "unconventional" couple - but eventually buckled under the wrath of a dozen family members who insisted that "It's practically rude not to register!" I don't know about that... but we did spend a rather thrilling afternoon at Williams-Sonoma, registering for everything from pots and pans to china to stainless steel measuring cups. Without that registry, I can just about guarantee that I'd never have scored my beloved Kitchen Aid mixer or the wonderful set of stainless steel pans that I use every day. In fact, my husband and I have been married almost fifteen years now, and most of our wedding gifts still get regular use. Like our marriage, they are quality items that were built to last - even if his-and-hers aprons aren't the sparkliest or most romantic gifts! As Jupiter makes his way through the zodiac at the page of about one sign per year, he brings along the blessings of that sign's best expression. If you plan to marry in 2008, Jupiter will be in the sign of Capricorn in your wedding chart, and his useful, practical, and enduring blessings will be a cornerstone of your union. Throughout your marriage, the investments you make, the objects you acquire, the relationships you build, the careers you pursue, and all the good fortune we call "luck" will bear the mark of Capricorn's careful pragmatism. But because Capricorn is the sign of quality, but not necessarily sex appeal, it may take some looking to find the luck. When your father hands you the keys of his three year old Volvo and says, "It's yours," it is a sweet gesture that may nevertheless be a little disappointing if you had your heart set on a flashy sportscar. But a moment's reflection points out that it's well made, will last for decades... and it's FREE! Jupiter is also the planet that symbolizes religion, optimism, education, and travel. In Capricorn, Jupiter tends to take a practical interest in these areas of life. If religion is part of your lives, it will likely be quite a staid and conservative religion - or else one that expresses Capricorn's earthy side, such as paganism. You may find you're happiest traveling for work, or for some other specific purpose, rather than purely for pleasure. And since Capricorn is the sign that represents career focus, you may yourselves working in education, the travel industry, or a religious institution. A wedding date with Jupiter in Capricorn is especially beneficial for you if you or your partner were born with the Ascendant, Sun, Moon, Venus, or Saturn in Capricorn. (Don't know?
