April Elliott Kent has been a professional astrologer since 1990. She is a member of ISAR, SDAS, and is website and newsletter coordinator for the San Diego chapter of NCGR. Her astrological writing on relationships, marriage, and other topics has appeared in The Mountain Astrologer, America's leading astrology trade journal; The Wholistic Astrologer (Australia); New Zealand Journal of Astrology (New Zealand); and Aspects (South Africa). Her articles have appeared online at MoonCircles.com, Beliefnet.com and AOL Horoscopes. She is a contributor to Llewellyn's Moon Sign Book. Star Guide to Weddings (Llewellyn, 2008) is her first book.

Since 2000, an important focus of April's astrological practice has been helping couples choose astrologically fortunate days to marry, using the traditional techniques of electional astrology. In 2006 she developed and launched an astrological wedding planner report called "Moonstruck." Star Guide to Weddings, which takes an easy-to-read Sun sign approach to marriage, expands the reach of her wedding work to a general audience.

Happily married since 1993, she is a doting cat owner, a "recovering secretary" with fifteen years in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and co-owner of a website development company. April's warm, anecdotal approach to astrological storytelling is easy for astrological beginners to follow while offering rich insights to more advanced students of astrology.
